As we look forward to tomorrow and the Thanksgiving holiday I am flooded with all the normal thoughts of thankfulness. I am grateful for my loving family and friends, for my two healthy little boys, for my warm cozy home and all the gifts I’ve been blessed with this year. I am thankful for the wonderful people in our lives and the clarity to recognize just how fortunate we are in a world that is not always so kind. But this year my thoughts turn in another direction and I realize that I have a whole other list of thanks specifically related to my “other family”…my Cupcake Shoppe family. This “other family” is made up of all the wonderful women that work for me and YOU our wonderful customers and friends!

I am thankful to wake up each morning and work hard doing something that truly warms my soul. I am thankful to simply BE in business for another year as a small, local independent entrepreneur in a market that is filled with corporate chains and big box stores.

I am thankful for our bakers who come in at 4 or 5am each day with a strong commitment to quality scratch baking and execute their job with flawless performance and most of all a warm heart! I am thankful to my insanely talented decorators who inspire me with their vision and skill on a daily basis and make all our clients “cake dreams” come true. I am appreciative of their strong commitment to detail and making every last order perfect! I am thankful for my front counter staff who greet my customers with smiles and a helping hand. I appreciate their ability to make a killer cup of coffee and remember your name in a world too fast paced and impersonal for it’s own good most days. These young ladies fill the shop with a warmness that only their sweet personalities can! I am more than grateful for my managerial team who work the business as if it were their own and carry out my vision to a “T”. These amazing young women help keep the wheels turning 24/7 and allow me a little more time with my family than I used to see when we opened over 7 years ago with a staff of 2! I admire them all for their tireless commitment to their jobs, to the business, to our “cupcake family” and to YOU our wonderful clients.

I end this post with a huge heart and offer of gratitude to YOU our customers. Without you none of this would even exist. These 10 amazing women would not have the jobs they have, I would not run the business I do, and we would not be as lucky as we are to KNOW you! We would have missed out on your stories……your engagements, your weddings, your bridal & baby showers, your children’s birthdays, your date nights, your reunions, and all of your countless celebrations. We would not have had the opportunity to serve you, to get to KNOW you, to learn how you like your coffee, and what cupcake or cookie can put a smile on your face after a long day at the office. We would not have met your out of town friends, your families, your new pet, your in laws, or even seen the smiles on your faces when you found out that you are having a “little girl” even though you were convinced it was a boy! I AM THANKFUL, we are thankful, and wish you and yours the most wonderful of holidays! MANY THANKS!
