Hello friends! Many of you may know me as Arlen or “the girl who’s always here”. For the past four or so years, serving our devoted customers and meeting new faces has been a daily joy. I get to work with everyone from the daily coffee drinker to the excited bride to the parents who come in every year for the next birthday cake.

That’s why it’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of my upcoming departure. My fiance and I are moving next month to southern France. I am so excited but of course it is bittersweet to be leaving a shoppe that has become my second home. Working for Sara has been one of my favorite experiences to date, she is an inspiration in every way and a friend for life. It’s no wonder that someone so good-hearted and hard-working has had so much success! My coworkers have been my confidants and cheerleaders and I can’t imagine not seeing their faces every day anymore.

But it’s also all of you, the customers, who I will miss just as much! I have enjoyed learning your names and favorite treats and taking all of your custom orders. It’s been a pleasure to share in these experiences with you and I will always cherish my time here.

But fear not! A fantastic, sweet, professional superstar has been training with me for the last couple of months. Lauren is amazing and I have the utmost confidence in her skills to pick up where I leave off. I know she is going to enjoy forming the same relationships that I have. Hello new friends! My name is Lauren Martin and as Arlen has mentioned, I will be fulfilling her position as she embarks on an exciting adventure in France. I am so thrilled to be able to join such an amazing work team at The Cupcake Shoppe. There hasn’t been a minute I haven’t enjoyed since I started working here in July. I was so excited when Sara offered me the position because for those who know me, I love sweets!

One of my favorite things so far that I have experienced in my new role here at the shoppe, is watching our customers facial expressions when we bring out their custom order. It brings such joy seeing how happy and excited yet another customer is. Another great aspect I have come to enjoy even more is the creative aspect. Being able to start from scratch or even jumping off of ideas customers have; it’s been such a pleasure helping our customers come up with ideas for their custom orders. Though I may not be the best sketch artist, I promise to give you great ideas and help you envision your order.
