Last weekend, we had the pleasure of working with a fantastic family, The Naveys. The parents were planning a Kentucky Derby themed birthday party for their little girl and boy. They had come across these really adorable pony and rose decorations online and we came up with a way to re-create them in fondant to sit on top of the cupcakes.

The boy and girl each got their own special cupcake decked out with a pony and a monogrammed ribbon and the rest of the cupcakes were topped with pretty, pink roses.  Mr. Navey is a photography editor at Always Autumn studios and snapped these beautiful photographs of the cupcakes at the party and was kind enough to share them with us, along with some very kind words! Seeing these pictures and reading his email just made our week, maybe even month! Read what he had to say below:

“Thank you SO MUCH for the wonderful job you did with our cupcakes!!!  You and your staff were AMAZING!!!  I expected that they would taste great and that they would look good too, but having them in person made it even more exciting for us.  Everyone at the party LOVED them and wanted to touch them because of the wonderful detail work.  My son, who turned 3, was literally shaking with excitement when he saw them.  He asked me for an hour when he could finally have a cupcake!  Thank you for helping to make this party such a special day for our family and our children! Thank you again for everything!  I’m sure we’ll be back in the shop for a date with our kids!”

This order quickly became a staff favorite that weekend, and so did the Naveys! It was our absolute pleasure to be involved in this memorable party and we can’t wait to see them in the shoppe sometime soon!

A few months ago, we did an order of christening cupcakes for a little girl and her mother sent us this lovely email, along with a picture of her order:
